The ZSU-57-2 is a former Soviet-only self-propelled anti-aircraft gun system equipped with a twin 57mm automatic gun. The ZSU is an abbreviation of the Russian Zenitnaya Samokhodnaya Ustanovka, meaning "self-defense air defense system". 57 represents the year of equipment and also represents Anti-aircraft gun caliber, 2 on behalf of the barrel number. It is the first self-propelled anti-aircraft gun in the former Soviet Union that produced large quantities of equipment.

ZSU-57-2 officially entered the Soviet Army in 1955 service. The first fleets of anti-aircraft units that began their tank regiment operations in 1957 were used to replace the BTR-40 and BTR-152 air defense models. It made its first public appearance on the parade show in Moscow on November 7, 1958.
